Patients can now easily access their own test results via Patient Access or the NHS App
Patients can ring the surgery to find out their test results after 2pm Monday to Friday.
The receptionists may advise the patient whether the result is normal however they are not qualified to comment further so if you require an explanation they will either task the clinician for further clarification or arrange a routine call for you.
Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.
When you take your test, you will be informed how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice.
It is your responsibility to check your results and follow-up with the surgery if you have questions.
The results of a cervical smear test will be posted to you directly.
